CLIENT CASE STUDY: Altra Design Limited

Altra Design (www.altraeurope.com) is a company founded on a new concept for furniture design. When Myall Consulting was first approached by the investor for this project, only the basic design of the company's first product (the yet-to-be-named 'Altra Ergo chair') had been drafted.

The project was broken down in to two main Phases. In Phase One, Myall Consulting compiled a complete business plan and carried out research to determine the feasibility of the project. In addition to this, the business and product names were developed, the legal entity established in the United Kingdom, a Sales & Distribution Outline was compiled, as was a comprehensive Distribution List outlining the 29 identified key target buying groups.

In Phase Two, Myall Consulting moved from the role of an external consultant to a position of operational management. Effectively, Myall Consulting became responsible for the company during it's start-up period. During this period, Myall was responsible for the sales team, as well as the general management and administration elements of the company.

The head office of the company is now located in the United Kingdom, and has it's manufacturing and design elements based in Milan, Italy. Its first product, the Altra-Ergo chair, is due to begin manufacturing in January 2004 for release in the summer season, and will be sold EU-wide.
